Present :)

To all Hackintosh'ers :)

Yesterday was my birthday (31-8), I did not receive many presents and that made me sad. But still I am going to give you a present :). Upon receiving to many request for the dual boot installation, I accept to do a new short video for dual boot installation. This video and guide will only include hdd(ssd) preparation before actual Mac OS X installation and the beginning of the installation up to diskutility section. Once you complete the guide, you will actually continue steps from main guide part 1.

To shortly brief;
Guided method used for dual boot is the method that commonly used in the hackintosh community. Since your computers already have installation of Windows, your computers selected partition table mapping will be MBR (Master Boot Record) and there is no need of changing that for SL (Snow Leopard). Video will guide you with steps as before.

Video status: %100 ready. (updated)
Guide status: %80 ready. (updated)

will update probably today, video will be very very short and it will just include guides and the part that handled in windows for dual booting and the rest will be continued on main guideline...

Also if you choose to do a DUAL BOOT installation for MAC OS X and WINDOWS 7 this tutorial will still help you...

Before begin what you need to have:

Part 3 Updating and installing Ati 5650m

Step 1:
Boot up your Hackint0sh OS X normally.

Step 2:
Use Chameleon Wizard to install and update Chameleon Bootloader to the latest version. First connect to BuildBot, than Install bootloader on desired partition. (Prefered partition is the same partition with OS X installation)
Create a new plist file into /Extra folder and name it as “org.chameleon.Boot.plist” than use Chameleon Wizard to edit it (Busratio and Resolution fix) and save.
Install Apple Combo Update 10.6.8 v1.1 for Snow Leopard. Do NOT restart after the Combo Update Completes…

Step 4:
Install all the pre-update kext files and post-update kext files except “ATI kexts” (download link on KeepwareBlog) after installation reboot your OS X.

Step 5:
Install SwitchResX Application supplied with zip file. This application is required to fix resolution problem after installing ATI kext files. Supplied version is 3.8.6 and it is 10 day trial. Program needs to registered before 10 day finishes. Zip file also contains a txt file that has some name and some serial to help registration because its so expensive for such a program :) use it by your own risk!!!!

Step 6:
After installation of SwitchResX it requires to reboot or relog, than open its settings and edit the custom resolution to fix your  Vaio’s screen resolution. (mine was 1366x768x32@59.9 hz)

Step 7:
Install Ati kext files supplied with the zip file. Enable “Graphics Enabler” kernel flag with Chameleon Wizard.

Step 8:
Reboot your laptop, connect secondary display and than edit your resolution settings to make your laptop’s main screen work again :)

Step 9:
Reboot and remove secondary display.

Step 10:
Enjoy your Vaio with QE/CI enabled for ATI 5650M on OS X 10.6.8. Thanks to Keepware :)
